Job description

Captain

First Coast Security Solutions is seeking a Captain to support the Federal Protective Service (FPS) Heartland Region contract St. Louis, MO and surrounding areas. This position is responsible for the overall operational performance. This position provides leadership to site supervisors and PSO's.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership of daily operations of assigned contract locations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to site supervisors and PSO's.
  • Ensure officers are properly trained and maintain all required certifications and licenses.
  • Maintain employee files, certifications, reports, and required contract documentation.
  • Oversee equipment, uniforms, supplies, permits, vehicles and other operational needs.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain working relationships with clients and employees.
  • Respond to operational issues and emergencies.
  • Review operational performance, staffing levels and ensure all contractual requirements are met.
  • Assist with interviews and recruiting efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must receive and maintain a favorable Enter on Duty (EOD) or fitness determination.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Must possess CPR/First Aid and AED certification.
  • Must be able to prepare clear and accurate reports.
  • Must have strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all contract-required certifications and clearances.

Experience

  • Minimum of three to five years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal contract requirements and compliance.
  • Candidates must also have one of the following: two (2) years of armed security experience, one (1) year of full-duty law enforcement experience, or two (2) years of honorable military service.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed field, and office settings.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending and driving between assigned locations.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 25-50 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
  • Frequent travel throughout the Heartland Region.
