Job description

Security Guard Position

The Schwebel Baking Company is seeking part-time security guards for our bakery in Youngstown, Ohio. Applicants must be able to work Tuesday – Saturday. More detail regarding shift times will be provided to qualified candidates upon phone screens. General responsibilities include performing a full range of security functions including ensuring the safety and security of premises by monitoring and controlling employee and visitor access. The Risk Agent primarily interacts with plant employees and visitors who are entering/exiting the plant as well as other Risk Agents and Plant Management. Enforces company policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of premises and occupants.

The Risk Agent shall:

  • Control employee access to building.
  • Monitor security of premises by viewing camera footage.
  • Watch for irregularities (such as hazards, equipment malfunctions, unlocked security doors) and reports incidents or problems to the EHS Manager and/or Plant Management on duty.
  • Make independent and appropriate judgment decisions that reinforce company policy and procedure.
  • Hand out mail to employees as they enter the Risk Office lobby.
  • Keep the Risk Office and lobby neat and organized & stocks hairnets and PPE.
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
  • Instructs employees and visitors on proper use of PPE and other standard operating procedures.
  • Take incoming calls regarding shift scheduling or cancellation.
  • Coordinate emergency procedures.
  • Monitor bolt cutters and building keys and records who has access to these.
  • Provide any assistance needed to customers, employees, visitors, and/or the public via telephone or in person.
  • Perform training of other contracted security guards.
  • Perform other functions as required.
