*This is NOT a cybersecurity role*
The SOC Operator supports Strata Clean Energy by identifying, analyzing, and managing incidents affecting company operations, employees, or the brand. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
The position will work every Saturday & Sunday from 12pm-6pm.
The SOC Operator is responsible for monitoring cameras and alarms, notifying internal & external stakeholders, and providing general support to headquarters and field security teams during both routine and crisis situations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Respond remotely to routine and emergency calls, dispatching and notifying police, fire, and EMS for alarm activations and other incidents.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of communications, events, dispatch activity, and visitor tracking for remote sites.
  • Report incidents promptly to the security team, including crimes, injuries, and alarm activations.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure proper operation of Video Monitoring Systems (VMS).
  • Communicate critical information to security management and key partners using established protocols.
  • Handle sensitive situations discreetly, maintaining confidentiality and information security related to employee issues, investigations, PR incidents, and emergency contact details.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Comfortable with a technical work environment and ongoing learning of new tools and innovations
  • Excellent customer service skills with an organizational and time-management ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak clearly in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • As a condition of employment, employees must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer, pre-employment drug test
  • Ability to multitask, stay calm, and give direction in an occasionally fast-paced and, at times, stressful work environment while effectively prioritizing tasks
  • Must possess a solid employment history that demonstrates dependability
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify causes, and implement results-oriented solutions
  • Ability to work independently while also being a team player

Preferred Skills, but not necessary:
  • Associate's degree or 2+ years of equivalent work experience in the military, law enforcement, government, or corporate security
  • Experience with security systems including alarm monitoring, electronic access control, and VMS

Note: Current NC Guard Card is NOT required for this security position.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Work is completed 100% in Strata's Durham, North Carolina headquarters. This is a sole/lone operator position. Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
