Robert Half is seeking an experienced IT Support to join a small, client-focused IT consulting organization. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with a variety of small business clients, providing both remote and onsite technical support across Microsoft technologies, infrastructure, and end-user environments.
Location: Remote with local onsite client visits (Portland Metro Area)
Schedule: Part-Time (5 to 10 hours per week)
Duration: 1 year to start, ongoing
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, licensing, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for end users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Monitor and troubleshoot daily backup jobs, ensuring successful completion and resolving failures.
- Manage Windows updates and patching for servers and workstations.
- Troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, printers, and network connectivity issues.
- Install, terminate, test, and label Cat5e/Cat6 structured cabling.
- Install, configure, and support IP security camera systems (CCTV/NVR).
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows devices.
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and technical documentation.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including user provisioning and equipment setup.
- Document technical procedures and identify opportunities to improve IT operations and security.
- 3+ years of IT support or systems administration experience.
- Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience.
- Experience supporting Windows desktops and Windows Server environments.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with structured cabling installations and IP security camera systems.
- Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Intune device management.
- PowerShell scripting experience.
- VMware or Hyper-V administration.
- Firewall configuration and administration.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and IT security principles.
