Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-2pm
Pay: $20/hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant, community-minded Campus Security Officer to join our safety team. In this role, you will protect students, staff, and campus property while fostering a safe, welcoming educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol Campus: Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, and parking lots.
  • Access Control: Monitor building entrances, verify identification, and secure facility doors, monitor CCTV cameras.
  • Emergency Response: Serve as a first responder to medical calls, fire alarms, and safety hazards.
  • Community Relations: Assist students and staff with safety escorts, directions, and lockouts.
  • Incident Reporting: Write clear, accurate logs and reports regarding daily activities and security incidents.
  • Special Projects: Secure campus during various events: Concerts, sporting events, school functions, etc.

Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensing: Valid state security guard license
  • Experience: Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, conflict de-escalation, and basic computer proficiency.
  • Customer Service: Comfortable speaking with the public, providing direction.
  • Physical Ability: Able to stand, walk, and remain active for extended shifts in various weather conditions.
  • De-escalation: Address and de-escalate conflicts between students, staff, or visitors in a calm and professional manner.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ Year Security experience required
  • Active CT Security License required
