Installation and Service Technician – Deploy Multifamily Access Control and IP Camera Solutions


Job Overview

  • Company: Tetra
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $22 to $30 per hour (based on experience)
  • Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid / 20% Travel Required within the local area.)
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time
  • Project Scope: Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of multifamily and commercial low-voltage infrastructure
  • Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Valid Texas Security license, Valid Drivers License.


The Opportunity

You will serve as a vital field technician driving the deployment and reliability of our security technology solutions across expanding markets. Working closely with a collaborative team, you will directly ensure customer satisfaction while expanding your technical expertise. How You Will Make an Impact

  • Install, configure, and service complex access control systems including card readers, door hardware, and system controllers.
  • Terminate, route, and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring for networked surveillance systems and security infrastructure.
  • Diagnose technical hardware failures, wiring faults, and device communication performance issues in the field.
  • Keep detailed documentation regarding customer contact and progress on various projects.
  • Interpret architectural wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specific technical installation documentation to execute deployments accurately.
  • Coordinate daily with project managers, field technicians, and multifamily property managers to complete scheduled service calls.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of completed on-site installations, infrastructure repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven hands-on experience with low-voltage wiring practices and structural cabling installations.
  • Solid technical understanding of access control systems and IP-based camera technology networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and work collaboratively within a dedicated, team-oriented environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a consistently clean driving record.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in multifamily or commercial low-voltage security environments.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of core networking fundamentals, including device connectivity and IP addressing.
  • Manufacturer low-voltage or security industry technical certifications.
