Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
  • Thursday - Saturday: 5:45 PM - 6:00 AM
  • Every Other Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
  • Approximately 37 hours per week
  • Overtime opportunities available based on operational needs

Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Armed Security Officer to support security operations at a secure government detention facility in Glenwood Springs. This position works alongside sworn public safety personnel to help maintain a safe, controlled, and orderly environment while protecting staff, visitors, and individuals in custody.
This assignment requires professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to remain composed while working in a structured, security-focused environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Facility Security
  • Maintain a highly visible armed security presence throughout assigned areas.
  • Conduct routine security inspections of designated locations.
  • Monitor controlled-access areas to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Help preserve a safe and orderly environment for employees, authorized visitors, and individuals in custody.

Security Operations
  • Support sworn personnel in maintaining established safety and security protocols.
  • Observe activities throughout the facility and report suspicious behavior or security concerns.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents while following client procedures and company policies.
  • Assist with enforcing operational rules and maintaining secure conditions.

Transportation Support
  • Assist with the secure movement of individuals in custody when operationally required.
  • Coordinate professionally with deputies and authorized personnel during transport assignments.
  • Maintain security awareness throughout transportation activities.
  • Follow all transportation procedures and documentation requirements.

Reporting & Communication
  • Complete detailed incident reports, activity logs, and security documentation.
  • Communicate important operational updates to supervisors and client representatives.
  • Accurately document safety concerns, unusual events, and security-related observations.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive operational information.

Required Qualifications
  • Personal firearms are suitable for duty assignments.
  • Ability to meet all applicable armed security licensing and qualification requirements.
  • Strong observation, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sworn personnel.
  • Successful completion required background screening.
