TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc. is seeking a Security Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of integrated physical security systems across our operations. This role plays a critical part in protecting people, assets, and business continuity by delivering resilient, scalable security solutions that enhance situational awareness and emergency response capabilities.

As a technical expert, you will own the full lifecycle of security systems-from architecture and design through implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement-while partnering closely with security, IT, and facilities teams.

Key Responsibilities

Security Systems Engineering & Design

  • Design and engineering integrated physical security systems, including:
    • Access control (badging, biometrics, mobile credentials)
    • Video surveillance (CCTV, VMS platforms, analytics)
    • Intrusion detection and alarm monitoring systems
    • Intercoms, duress alarms, and emergency communications
  • Develop system architecture, device layouts, and network integration plans
  • Ensure systems are scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise risk requirements
  • Incorporate modern technologies such as video analytics and IP-based platforms

System Integration & Compliance

  • Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses across facilities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, local codes, and industry standards
  • Develop and maintain system standards, specifications, and design guidelines
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements

Monitoring, Analytics & Incident Support

  • Optimize system performance, including analytics, alarm thresholds, and configurations-to reduce false alarms
  • Support Security Operations Center (SOC) environments and real-time monitoring capabilities
  • Lead root cause analysis for system failures, alarms, or incidents
  • Analyze system data trends and recommend continuous improvements

Maintenance & Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs for all security systems
  • Manage vendors, service contracts, and system warranties
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, drawings, and asset inventories
  • Develop lifecycle replacement strategies for aging technologies

Project & Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with security, IT, facilities, and emergency management teams
  • Provide technical input for capital planning and budgeting
  • Support critical incident response through system readiness and reliability

Leadership & Training

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for physical security systems
  • Mentor engineers, technicians, and security personnel
  • Develop and deliver training for system operators and SOC staff

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Systems, or related field) or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in security systems engineering, low-voltage design, or electronic security systems
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Access control platforms (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, CCure, AMAG)
    • Video management systems (VMS) and IP-based CCTV
    • Intrusion detection and alarm systems
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, PoE, VLANs, system integration)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and applicable codes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as PSP (ASIS), CPP, NICET, or OEM certifications (Lenel, Genetec, etc.)
  • Experience supporting Security Operations Centers (SOC) or command centers
  • Background in high-availability or mission-critical environments (manufacturing, healthcare, campus security, etc.)
