Job description

The Security Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative support in maintaining compliance with federal security requirements in a government contracting environment. This role assists the FSO and AFSO in managing personnel security documentation, coordinating access control, tracking training, and supporting security-related communications and procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sensitive (but unclassified) information with professionalism and discretion.
Requirements
  • Maintain and update internal records for employee security status and required documentation.
  • Schedule and track completion of employee security awareness and onboarding training.
  • Maintain training documentation and generate status reports for compliance reviews.
  • Support the FSO and AFSO in preparing for internal and external compliance reviews.
  • Help monitor adherence to company security policies and procedures, and assist with routine inspections or audits.

Equipment/Systems:
This position requires familiarity with MSOffice tools, SharePoint and Adobe; daily utilization of JAMIS and multiple government systems is also required.
Competencies:
The Security Administrative Assistant role requires someone who has exceptional attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills. Additionally, this person must have the ability to multitask, problem solve, create documentation of processes, work both independently and in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with people of varying experiences and backgrounds is critical.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role that primarily requires sitting at a desk in front of a computer for long periods of time.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time exempt position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Secret government security clearance.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative or office support role, preferably within a government contracting or regulated environment.
