Description:

Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for a DevOps Engineer II within the Trusted Systems team. This position will provide direct support to engineering platforms and microservices used to develop critical applications leveraged across multiple DoD customers.


What You'll Do:

  • Develop infrastructure, task automation, provision managed services leveraging Ansible and scripting programming languages.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code utilizing GitLab.
  • Install, configure, and provide performance support for container Orchestration Engines (OE) such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker Swarm.
  • Manage commercial cloud computing platforms (Azure and AWS).
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, as well as with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other software and test teams to integrate capabilities.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in cybersecurity threats and offensive capabilities and contribute to internal research and development efforts.
  • Maintain and update documentation pertaining to systems builds.

Education/Experience/Skillset Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field and 2 years’ experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and solid understanding of Linux.
  • Comfortable using version control and configuration management tools such as Git or SVN.
  • Experience deploying and managing containerized applications in Kubernetes clusters and custom manifests.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS).
  • General understanding of DevSecOps principles and the secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDL).
  • Experience with:
    • Configuring and managing Linux based computing resources
    • Using automated infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar tools
    • Virtualization platforms (e.g., KVM, ProxMox, VSphere)
    • Ability to understand and describe highly technical software systems
    • Knowledge of DoD environment, systems, and applications
    • Comfortable troubleshooting and resolving technical issues

US Salary Range: $79,000 - $125,000

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
