The Chief Engineer, CyberArk Technologies provides technical leadership for privileged access and identity security initiatives that support the organization's cybersecurity strategy and operational objectives. This role collaborates with security, infrastructure, application, and business teams to support the design, implementation, enhancement, and ongoing operation of privileged access solutions across enterprise environments. The position helps advance identity security capabilities, supports modernization efforts, and contributes to the development of secure access practices that align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Working across cross-functional teams, the Chief Engineer leads efforts related to platform architecture, integration, automation, operational reliability, and technology lifecycle management. The role partners with stakeholders to evaluate business and technical needs, develop strategic roadmaps, and support initiatives that improve security, operational efficiency, and risk management. In addition, this position provides technical guidance and leadership for enterprise cybersecurity programs while helping ensure scalable, resilient, and effective identity and privileged access solutions that support business needs
Job Summary:
This position provides expert consultation and technical advice on IT infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture and leads team interactions with architects and software engineers to ensure functional specifications are converted into flexible, scalable, and maintainable system designs. This position builds and leverages partnerships with various IT teams and partners with business leaders, solutions, and enterprise architects to review business drivers, and define, understand, and communicate target strategies and roadmaps to team members.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • As part of the IT Engineering job family, this position is responsible for leveraging DEVOPS, and both Waterfall and Agile practices, to design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure, multi-channel, high-volume, high-transaction, on/off-premise, cloud-based solutions.
  • Fosters and leverages partnerships with various IT Teams (e.g., database, operations, technical support) throughout system development and implementation.
  • Serve as an expert in developing system designs that adhere to company architecture standards.
  • Provides guidance and standards for writing, reviewing, and validating technical specifications and documentation.
  • Leads team interactions with architects and software engineers to ensure functional specifications are converted into flexible, scalable, and maintainable system designs.
  • Leverages partnerships with IT teams and key business partners to troubleshoot complex systems and provide solutions.
  • Modifies and validates system design prototypes.
  • Provides expert consultation and expert technical advice on IT infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture for assigned systems across multiple IT functional areas by assessing the implications of IT strategies on infrastructure capabilities.
  • Leverages expertise on existing systems to make recommendations on resources required to maintain service levels and meet new demands.
  • Leads others in developing project support plans, schedules, and assignments.
  • Partners with business leaders, Solutions, and enterprise architects to review business drivers, and define, understand, and communicate target strategies and roadmaps to team members.
  • Leads colleagues in the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into technical specifications that support integrated and sustainable designs for complex or high impact infrastructure systems spanning multiple IT functional areas, by partnering with lead Business Analysts to understand business needs and functional specifications.
  • Provides recommendations and input on options, risks, costs, and benefits for systems designs.
  • Serves as a key partner for project teams throughout the implementation and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure systems across multiple functional IT areas by defining and overseeing the documentation of detailed standards (e.g., guidelines, processes, procedures) for the introduction and maintenance of services.
  • Leads team members in the estimation of resource requirements for technical design.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum four (4) years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and Minimum ten (10) years experience in an IT operations environment with technical experience in distributed technologies , systems development, and/or networking. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Three (3) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above)
  • Five (5) years experience leading the development of technical documentation in an infrastructure development environment.
