You will design, develop, test, and maintain software components that support both cadence-managed and event-driven mission deliverables in a secure, mission-critical environment. You will lead or perform software integration, troubleshooting, and secure coding activities; collaborate closely with systems engineering and test teams; and ensure releases and processes comply with program and DoD standards. In the Scrum Master and CMD Manager variants, you will additionally provide leadership for agile teams and/or command-and-control-related development and coordination. These roles work in close coordination with the EDLM/UDLM (Emergency/Urgent Depot Level Maintenance) Manager.
Responsibilities
For all Software Developer III roles (core responsibilities):

- Use version control and configuration management tools to manage source code, branches, baselines, and releases.
- Collaborate with systems engineering and test teams to implement new features, address findings, and validate changes.
- Document software releases, including change descriptions, test results, known issues, and deployment notes.
- Provide technical input for incident reports, maintenance records, and user/operational documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of development processes, automation, and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Coordinate closely with the EDLM/UDLM Manager to ensure software changes supporting urgent/emergency depot-level maintenance are properly integrated and documented.
- Additional focus-area responsibilities may include:
DevSecOps Support (5 roles)
Lead DevSecOps pipeline design and improvements (build, test, security scanning, deployment).
Integrate security tools and checks into CI/CD workflows.
Mentor junior developers on secure coding and DevSecOps best practices.
PJM Scrum Master (2 roles)
Serve as Scrum Master for one or more development teams, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Remove impediments, coordinate with Product Owners/Project Managers, and ensure alignment to program priorities.
Track and report team delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, etc.) and drive continuous improvement.
CMD Manager (1 role)
Coordinate software activities supporting CMD-related functions (e.g., command-and-control or mission data management).
Align CMD-related development schedules and resources with program milestones and stakeholder needs.
Support CMD-focused risk/issue tracking and status reporting.
Qualifications
7-10 years of experience in software development, with increasing responsibility and leadership, preferably in secure or mission-critical DoD/defense environments.
Strong experience in software design, development, modification, testing, and maintenance using modern languages and frameworks.
