Job Description:
Full Time 36 weekly hours, mid shift
Job Summary
The ED Tech assists the nursing and medical staff by performing selected procedures and emergent duties in the care of Emergency Department patients. They also perform duties as Unit Secretary, thus having both a clinical and clerical aspect to their role. All functions must be within the scope of training and instruction received and is under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
1. Performs desk duties in a clerical role with high levels of accuracy
2. Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care
3. Assists the nursing staff in triage
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent with recent experience in a health care setting providing patient care.
  • BCLS certified with in the first 90 days
  • Previous Emergency Room work experience strongly preferred
