Job description

Leidos' Defense and Intel IT Business Area within the Digital Modernization Sector is seeking an exceptional, mission-focused leader to serve as the Vice President/Division Manager (DM) for the Intel IT Division, located in Reston, VA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a critical executive leadership position responsible for leading and growing an approximately $300M division delivering mission operations and support services across the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other national security customers. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing organization of more than 500 employees supporting complex, mission-critical operations throughout the Washington Capital Region, across the United States, and at select international locations. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President/Business Area Manager, the Division Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, driving operational excellence, strengthening customer relationships, and accelerating growth across current and emerging mission areas.
This leader will champion Leidos' commitment to innovation, inclusion, mission execution, and employee engagement while ensuring flawless delivery to customers supporting critical national security priorities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Vice President/Division Manager will serve as the senior executive leader for the Intel IT Division and will be responsible for:
  • Leading and inspiring a diverse workforce in support of critical national security missions across the IC and DHS communities.
  • Creating and sustaining a highly inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing culture focused on employee engagement, retention, development, and mission success.
  • Developing and executing division strategy aligned to business area, sector, and enterprise priorities.
  • Establishing operational plans, budgets, and performance objectives while overseeing technical, financial, and operational execution.
  • Driving flawless program execution and customer satisfaction across a broad portfolio of mission operations and support programs.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders across the IC, DHS, and national security ecosystem.
  • Partnering with Business Development, Capture, and Proposal teams to identify, shape, capture, and win strategic growth opportunities.
  • Expanding the division's footprint through organic growth, strategic positioning, and increased utilization of Leidos direct labor.
  • Collaborating across the enterprise with division leadership, sector staff, and functional support organizations to advance business objectives and enterprise success.
  • Demonstrating highly ethical leadership and professional conduct that promotes trust, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Success in this role will be measured through achievement in the following areas:

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
  • Must have an active Top Secret Clearance; TS/SCI with Polygraph is preferred. US Citizenship is required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience managing complex operations and organizations.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting the Intelligence Community or DHS, with demonstrated success delivering mission operations and mission support solutions.
  • Strong understanding of IC and DHS customer missions, business processes, operational environments, and evolving technology needs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or overseeing acquisition teams, including business development, capture, and proposal activities supporting strategic growth initiatives.
  • Proven executive leadership and business management experience, including strong analytical, strategic planning, presentation, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, build consensus, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong risk management, decision-making, and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with customers, technical teams, managers, peers, and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with business development teams to grow existing programs and expand into adjacent markets.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse, geographically dispersed organizations while managing all phases of the business lifecycle.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience serving as a staff officer or senior leader within the Intelligence Community in a science, technology, or mission-focused organization.
  • Experience supporting DHS mission environments, homeland security operations, or other national security-focused agencies.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale mission IT modernization, operations, or enterprise support organizations.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies, mission systems integration, cybersecurity, cloud transformation, and digital modernization initiatives.
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
