Job Description

Overview:

  • Performs required maintenance on the plant's building, machinery and equipment.
  • Assists other maintenance personnel in performing mechanical maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follow and ensure that coworkers adhere to all applicable safe work policies & procedures.
  • Maintain a safe & clean work area.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic components.
  • Ensure that all work orders provided are completed as requested, or solution is reached.
  • Maintain parts inventory.
  • Complete all paper work and data entry as required.
  • Assist in the training of coworkers.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read mechanical diagrams and electrical schematics.
  • Must have a good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Must be able to read & use a non metric measuring tape
  • Must be able to count & perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division)

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or higher preferred, but not required
  • At least 5 years of experience, or documented training.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • Work space is not climate controlled and can reach both hot and cold extremes (30 degrees - 110 degrees Fahrenheit).
