Job Description

Our Sous Chef will act as the second in command in our kitchen, following and enforcing our executive chef’s requirements and guidelines. Our ideal candidate is a creative professional, self starter, a leader who is self-confident and willing to participate in creating delicious seasonal menus and meal designs. 

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Culinary Director/Executive Chef, develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
  • Assist with the preparation and planning of meal designs.
  • Line cook duties
  • Ensure food quality and presentation is adhered to by all staff
  • Monitor and record inventory
  • Provide support to cooks with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
  • Train new kitchen employees to meet kitchen standards.
  • Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Department of Health regulations for restaurant including HCAAP and food safety program
  • Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.
  • Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
  • Experience with catering and large group functions
  • Safe food handling techniques are required
  • Work flexible shifts
