Job description

Our Company

Our company exists to promote and protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We do that by designing, building, and supporting security and intelligence products. Our core expertise is in small, lightweight, high performance multi-mode radar systems for unmanned and manned aircraft. We cover the entire life-cycle, including designing, building, and testing the product on our aircraft, training the customer on how to use the system, and supporting it in the field.

The Position

We are looking to expand our aviation team by bringing on a part-time pilot. We are looking for a pilot that has exceptional ADM, stick and rudder, and interpersonal communication skills. In addition, we are looking for someone who is a healthy fit - someone who aligns with our company core values. These are our core values; they define how we behave and how you can succeed within our company:

  • All in - we're all in the same boat
  • Stand up - we stand accountable with integrity
  • Can-do - we innovate with a can-do attitude

Our team supports on-demand flights to test new products, demonstrate to customers, and collect data. Most of our flights happen right here in Utah Valley where our headquarters are located, which allows us to have a communication link to our flight operations center and provides a perfect environment for testing and demonstration. Occasionally, we operate flights in other locations throughout the country to accommodate customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Pilot in Command or designated Observer in our Cessna 172M, 182T, and T206H aircraft
  • Help to track and coordinate maintenance with our contract mechanic
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining aircraft, hangar, and office space
  • Assist with record keeping, inventory tracking, and other aviation related administrative work as needed
  • Coordinate with other departments within the company to determine need for flights
  • Interact with customers, line personnel, vendors, and others in a professional manner
  • Assist with planning cross-countries and complex test events
  • Ensure the security of information and products
  • Due to the on-demand nature of our flights, there will be days when we do not have any flights. You will be expected to fulfill other non-piloting responsibilities during the time you are scheduled to work. You are compensated for all time at work, not just for flight hours.

Requirements

These are some of the things that are important to us:

  • First, you are a good fit for the team and will enjoy working with us
  • You must currently live locally (within 45min of KSPK).
  • You have a Commercial Pilot license with instrument rating
  • You have logged at least 500 hrs as PIC
  • You have experience in Cessna aircraft (172, 182, 206)
  • You have a High-Performance Endorsement
  • You are a U.S. citizen, or have a valid permanent residence card
  • You are eligible to receive a security clearance
  • You can travel for company related projects. Travel is typically 2-5 times a year and lasts 1-2 weeks per trip
  • You can perform high precision hand-flying - much tighter than an ILS
  • You can make safe go-no-go decision based on weather, regulations, and other factors
  • You can assist in maintaining the aircraft in an airworthy condition and acquiring the necessary FAA approvals for our flight tests
  • You can troubleshoot electronic devices (Computer, routers, IPads, Ethernet/other cable connections)

Benefits

We like to take care of our team members. Here's what you can expect from us:

  • Compensation for every hour worked, not just flight hours
  • A high value on work-life balance
  • Flexible schedule options
  • A generous profit-sharing bonus and a 401k match for all employees
  • We take meticulous care of our aircraft

If this opportunity looks like a good fit, we'd love to hear from you. When you apply, please include a resume and an informal cover letter explaining what you're passionate about and what interests you most about the opportunity.
