Job description

Maersk Filipinas Crewing Inc. (Marine People Philippines) is looking for a competent Electrical Engineer with relevant seagoing experience, willing to be trained, challenged and expand their knowledge onboard our technically advanced container vessels with the best and latest machinery.

A key position in the engine department onboard one of the world’s largest container shipping companies where seafarers are onboarded and equipped to perform and contribute to deliver the vessel commitments. Seafarers are trained and guided in achieving their personal development and career advancement. We ensure to prioritize health and safety, promote diversity and inclusion and at all times carry out the upright practice both at sea and ashore.

Recruitment Criteria
  • At least 12 months seatime* in rank experience
  • With minimum 250 reefer container experience
Key Responsibilities
  • The Electrical Engineer shall supervise electrical maintenance and repair activities carried out by shore personnel, including safety aspects of the tasks.
  • Check, maintain and repair all electrical/electronic plant and machinery, installations and equipment based on senior officers' orders to achieve a safe and economic operation of all machinery and installations.
  • Report all tasks related to electrical checks and maintenance, including reefer containers, to the Chief Engineer.
  • Report to the Chief Officer and/or Master on tasks during loading / unloading of reefers, checks and care of reefers during passage.
  • Ensure work and rest hour planning is done regularly and requirements are complied with. Bring any challenges in rest hour compliance to the attention of the Chief Officer, Second Engineer and/or Chief Engineer.
