The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Under the supervision of a Department of Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor or Manager, the Second Cook completes tasks as outlined in the job flow for the daily position assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Knowledge of food production, service and sanitation  
  • Prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility  

 Preferred:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent  
  • 3 to 4 years of related work experience 

Scheduling Requirements

  • Shift: Evening 
  • Status: Part Time
  • Hours: 18.75hrs
  • Position may require work every other weekend depending on department’s needs

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods: to include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Special/Catered Events.
  • The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position.
  • These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
