| Aspect | Second Class Power Engineer | First Class Power Engineer |
|---|---|---|
| Certifications | Requires Second Class certification | Requires First Class certification |

The main difference between a Second Class Power Engineer and a First Class Power Engineer lies in certification requirements, with First Class requiring higher credentials. First Class engineers typically handle more complex systems and may oversee operations, whereas Second Class engineers focus on operational tasks within their certification scope. Both roles are vital in power plant operations, with First Class engineers often serving as supervisors or senior operators.
