Job description

What you get to do:

As an Emergency Medical Tech, you'll deliver the peace of mind that elevates our guest experience. Your reassuring presence will foster a positive atmosphere which enables the highest level of Ambassador performance and guest service. You will:

  • Provide emergency medical care and first aid to guests and Ambassadors

  • Prepare and assist with transfers of patients to transporting EMS units

  • Act as a first responder to medical emergencies in the park

  • Inspect vehicles, supplies and equipment to ensure compliance with state requirements

  • Complete documentation related to emergency/first aid care

  • Operate vehicles for emergency responses and transportations

  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and guidelines

  • Initiate accident investigations for work-related and ride-related incidents

  • Perform daily opening and/or closing duties of the First Aid station as well as daily checks on safety and rescue equipment

  • Perform miscellaneous functions as required, including but not limited to, general maintenance, organization, and appearance of the First Aid station, restocking of supplies, cleaning treatment areas, and contacting proper support units as needed

  • Uphold the highest standards of safety for yourself, Ambassadors, and guests

  • Participate in training and drills

  • Consistently demonstrate courteous and professional behavior

  • Active listener with the ability to anticipate guests' needs

  • Flexibility to perform varied duties

  • Theme parks experience preferred

What else is important:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Current Pennsylvania EMT Certification required

  • One (1) to two (2) years actively affiliated with a pre-hospital 911 ambulance service and/or hospital ER tech experience

  • Provide a reference list of current pre-hospital emergency service providers or EMT/ER employers to verify active status

  • Current American Heart Association/ American Red Cross CPR and AED certification

  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs

  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift

  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)

  • Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals

  • Willingness to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat and cold

  • Provide flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends, and holidays) and adhere to our Holiday and Availability agreement

  • Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations

  • Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines
