The Member Representative must become knowledgeable of all credit union products and services to best deliver exceptional service during all internal and external interactions. As a Member Representative, you will be responsible for achieving sales goals while generating positive rapport with members, employees, and all individuals within our community. You will identify member needs, drive results, and contribute to the overall success of the branch, with a commitment to serving our communities. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Process a high volume of teller transactions, inquiries and requests (maintain cash drawers and daily balance of vaults and branch cash).
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
  • Assist members with account inquiries, transactions, account maintenance and problem resolution.
  • Builds progressive knowledge around all member-facing credit union products and services.
  • Provide exceptional service by listening to members' needs and aligning them with the features, benefits and conveniences of Seattle Credit Union's products and services.
  • Educate members on the features, functions and conveniences that our digital banking platform offers.
  • Bring a solution oriented, growth mindset to challenging situations; Provides recommendations for improvement to management when appropriate.
  • Uphold the credit union's values and brand reputation by demonstrating professionalism and integrity while creating a positive impact on surrounding communities.
  • Uses sound judgement to help safeguard members and credit union from losses and risk exposure.
  • Adheres to all Seattle Credit Union values, policies and procedures, including applicable laws and regulations.
  • Effectively adjusts to changing and evolving priorities and expectations.
  • Focuses efforts on team success and delivering solutions to members.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
  • 0-1 years of banking experience.
  • Six months (6)+ of retail/customer service.
  • Six months (6)+ in a sales oriented role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with members.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
  • This position requires the ability to work at any assigned credit union branch location.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply credit union policy, procedure and protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Financial Institution background.
  • Six months (6) or more of previous financial institution experience working with sales goals, referral goals, appointment or member attainment goals or up selling products.
  • Education or certifications in finance or sales.
  • Associates degree or more advanced degree.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations such as Reg. B, Reg. E, Reg. D, Reg. CC, Reg Z, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
Working Conditions:
  • This is an in-branch role in the Greater Seattle area of Washington State. We serve members every day of the week except Sunday and limited hours on Saturday.
  • While this position is assigned to a primary branch, the Member Representative is expected to provide support at other branch locations as needed. This flexibility helps ensure members receive timely, exceptional service wherever they choose to bank.
  • Team members may attend special off-hour meetings and seminars.
  • The nature of work may include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
