Job description

Wholesale Produce Supply, LLC is one of the largest wholesale distributors of fresh produce in the Upper Midwest. Since its start in 1964, Wholesale Produce Supply has been steadily growing and building a stellar reputation in the produce industry.

Wholesale Produce Supply has immediate openings for seasonal warehouse associates (thru January 15, 2024).ย 

Pay: $22.90 per hour

Available shift: Monday, Tuesday, and either Wednesday or Thursday will be determined on business needs 12pm until finished. Saturday and Sunday 9am until finished.

POSITION SUMMARY:ย Manually move freight, stock, or other materials by hand or use of power jacks and forklifts. Pick and palletize orders, load and unload produce freight, and complete corresponding shipping paperwork

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
  • Sort pallets and boxes of produce and packing materials before loading and unloading.
  • Scanning inventory in and out, order processing.ย 
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
  • Move produce and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, trailers, and containers, by hand or using power jacks and forklifts.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to work in a refrigerated environment and lift up to 75 lbs.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES:

  • Employees receive immediate and annual training of in-house food and company safety programs.ย 
  • Requires immediate training and testing, then subsequent certification of forklift operation.ย 
  • An annual recertification will be expected of all warehouse employees.

Ideal Candidate

  • Must have electric power jack experience.
  • Strong forklifting experience.
  • Warehouse management system experience.
  • Must be available to work both first and second shift schedules, any day of the week.ย 
  • All warehouse schedules include weekend work.ย 
  • Must pass pre employment drug test and background check.
