Occupational health nursing is a specialized field dedicated to delivering health and safety services that support workers and workplace communities. This practice centers on promoting and restoring health, preventing illness and injury, and safeguarding individuals from work‑related and environmental hazards. At Tyson, our nurses have the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally as part of a skilled, mission‑driven team.

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for providing high‑quality professional nursing care and leading the occupational health programs at an assigned facility. This role oversees the implementation and maintenance of facility‑level occupational health policies, procedures, and nursing practices within the appropriate scope.

Key responsibilities include managing a comprehensive injury and illness prevention and early‑intervention program; overseeing workers’ compensation processes; and ensuring all reporting and recordkeeping meet OSHA, state, company, and legal standards. The Nurse Supervisor also participates in facility management meetings to deliver health‑related updates, supports safety and ergonomic initiatives, develops and delivers health education programs for Team Members, and maintains strict confidentiality in all matters. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Current unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: 2 years of occupational health nursing or relevant nursing field preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. Ability to work with an electronic medical documentation system.

Other Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills and independent decision making and problem-solving skills.

Travel: 1 to 2 domestic trips per year.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk unassisted through the plant, quickly respond to medical emergencies, climb stairs, assess team members swiftly, and perform CPR if required as well as ensuring team members and supervisors are following prescribed modified restricted duty requirements.

Days/Hours: Mon-Fri 2:00pm - 12:00am w/occasional Saturday based on production needs. May also have on call rotation.
