JOB IDENTIFICATION
Job Title: Lake Park Front Desk Associate
Grade: V
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Department: Recreation Facilities
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Revenue Facilities Manager
Supervises: Lake Park Attendants
BASIC FUNCTION
Lake Park Associate operates as frontline staff including cash control, admission onto the golf course and boating marina, fulfilling concessions and beverage orders, as well as customer relations and attendant staff supervision. Must be at least 21 years of age. This is a seasonal position dependent on the weather, with an anticipated start date of March 1st, 2026.
Schedule: Weekdays and weekends, 6:30am-1:45pm & 1:30pm-8:15pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Implements measures that insure the smooth day-to-day Cash and Concession operations.
  • Supervise and direct Lake Park Attendants. Ensure all facility rules and District Policies and procedures are followed by staff and patrons.
  • Enforce measures to secure handling of all monies.
  • Balance cash drawers and prepare deposits daily.
  • Complete all required paperwork, reports and daily forms. Enforce all facility rules and District policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate and promote positive guest relations and exceptional customer service.
  • Promote positive teamwork environment for all staff.
  • Take control of and act decisively in emergency situations, responding calmly and quickly under pressure.
  • Open and close the facility including the golf course and boat marina.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evening and weekend hours.
  • Control inventory of food and drink products and supplies.
  • Answer phone calls and questions/suggestions of guests.
  • Ensure the overall cleanliness of the food preparation area, public concessions area and outdoor patio areas.
  • Communicate staff and facility issues in a timely manner.

OTHER DUTIES
  • Troubleshoot to prevent potential problems.
  • Delegate work tasks to staff.
  • Responsible for concessions and waterfront when attendant is not on duty.
  • Inform all staff of any changes in policy, procedures or rules handed down by supervisor.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Park District Safety and Crisis Manuals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Some College level work.
Experience: Must be 21 years of age or older.
Cash handling experience preferred.
General knowledge of Point of Sale systems.
Customer service experience.
Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certification, classes available through Park District upon hire
Food Handler Training Certificate required following employment.
Illinois BASSET Certification required following employment.
Required Illinois Driver's License
