Job description

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a Senior Sock Designer in Accessories, you will create and develop seasonal sock concepts that blend style, performance, sport, and culture. We are looking for a curious, collaborative designer who is driven to innovate and challenge how products are made. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams are essential.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will design socks that advance Nike's vision at the intersection of sport and culture. You will identify opportunities, solve product challenges, and take informed risks to drive innovation. Day to day, you will research consumer and athlete insights, explore performance and manufacturing solutions, and develop creative product concepts. You will regularly present your work in design reviews and collaborate closely with the Sr. Manager of Socks and the Lead Sock Designer to shape product direction.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will partner with cross-functional teams across design, development, and merchandising to deliver products that meet performance, cost, consumer, and timeline objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Accessories Design Team to create cohesive product stories that reflect the Nike brand while continuing to build your expertise in Nike's design philosophy, processes, and products.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • 3-5 years' experience designing and developing innovative products
  • Bachelor's Degree in Product Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
  • A passion for style and function--awareness and ahead of marketplace trends in sport and culture
  • Presents and communicates work clearly and confidently in meetings and reviews
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, and Keynote
  • Manage multiple projects at various stages of the design from concept to production
  • Ability to apply and perform design skills such as: drawing/sketching, ideation, use of texture, spacing and scale, visual presentation development and layout
  • Critique, iterate and adjust design concepts and prototypes independently and collaboratively. Evaluate designs from a performance, manufacturing and functional perspective, extend expertise to problem solve
  • Open minded, good listener, receptive to candid feedback and diverse points of view.
  • Ability to translate athlete needs and insights into functional design solutions.
  • Highly detail-oriented and thorough, with a persistent drive to refine designs.
  • Awareness of manufacturing processes and ability to collaborate closely with developers and suppliers.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D/digital visualization tools.
  • Strong collaboration skills, while also confident in pushing for the highest standards.
  • Positive but persistent personality - not afraid to challenge and push for better product outcomes.
