Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a flight instructor for Fairmont State University.
  • Will teach flight lessons according to the Fairmont State Part 141 syllabus, including all policies and procedures associated with record keeping.
  • Will instruct on the simulator.
  • Will be responsible for pre- and post-flight briefings.
  • Will report all aircraft problems immediately up discovery.
  • Will keep safety of student and instructor as our top priority and make decisions accordingly with regard to weather, student knowledge and abilities, and other external factors.
  • Will adhere to schedule as posted by Program Manager and Chief.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including some travel to regional schools and events.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings.

Minimum Required Education

Instructors must have FAA-approved CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) or CFII (Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument) ratings.
