Job description

WAITLIST - Seasonal Seafood Processor - WAITLIST
Department: Kodiak Processing
Employment Type: Seasonal - Full Time
Location: Various
Compensation: $17.63 - $17.91 / hour
Description
This is a waitlist position for the Seasonal Seafood Processor role at Pacific Seafood. There is not currently an open position tied to this posting. By applying, you are joining our candidate waitlist and may be contacted if additional Seasonal Seafood Processor openings become available.
A Seafood Processor is an important member of our Processing team, responsible for processing various types of seafood while meeting quality, food safety, and production standards. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
Duties include but not limited to:
  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.
  • Inspect and grade product.
  • Walk to all picking tables and collect tips.
  • Place product in containers or on conveyers.
  • Run tips through tip machine and collect the meat.
  • Weigh and clean product.
  • Sanitize work area and equipment.
  • Place product in proper packaging as instructed.
  • Assist with workspace, plant clean-up and upkeep.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and product quality policies.
  • Communicate quality issues to supervisors and leads.
  • Maintain plant safety at all times.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you bring to Pacific Seafood
Required:
  • None

Preferred:
  • Prior experience with food processing equipment
  • Prior food safety experience
  • Prior experience in a processing environment

Other Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Required:
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize
    similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved
    written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
    situations.

  • Constantly required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
