Job description

Seasonal CT/X-Ray Technologist
Critical Access Hospitals (Cut Bank & Chester)
Looking for a change of pace from high-volume imaging centers?
Join our seasonal imaging team and experience the best of rural healthcare in Northwest Montana. This position offers the opportunity to work independently, build strong relationships with patients and providers, and make a direct impact in two Critical Access Hospital communities.
Our Mission: Quality, compassionate care for all.
Our Vision: Reimagine health care through connection, service and innovation.
Our Core Values: Be Kind | Trust and Be Trusted | Work Together | Strive for Excellence.
This is an excellent fit for a CT/X-Ray Technologist who enjoys variety, autonomy, and a broad scope of practice. You'll perform both CT and diagnostic X-Ray studies while serving as an important member of a close-knit healthcare team.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Unlike larger facilities where technologists may perform the same exams all day, this role offers a diverse mix of imaging responsibilities and the chance to work closely with providers and patients throughout the care continuum.
You may provide coverage at one of two Critical Access Hospitals (Cut Bank and Chester), both offering manageable exam volumes and a supportive work environment.
Average monthly volumes include:
Facility A

  • Approximately 35 CT exams per month
  • Approximately 92 X-Ray exams per month
Facility B
  • Approximately 74 CT exams per month
  • Approximately 140 X-Ray exams per month
This position also participates in an on-call rotation and may provide coverage at either facility based on operational needs.
Seasonal Package
  • Full-time schedule for a minimum 13-week assignment
  • 15% Seasonal Premium
  • Additional night and weekend shift differentials
  • 401(k) eligible
  • $1,000 bonus after 30 days
  • $1,000 bonus after 60 days
  • $1,000 completion bonus
  • No health benefits included
What You'll Do
  • Perform CT examinations in accordance with department protocols, ACR standards, and ALARA principles
  • Perform diagnostic X-Ray examinations across a variety of patient populations
  • Obtain patient histories and assess exam appropriateness
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including IV starts and contrast administration as applicable
  • Review physician orders, prior imaging, laboratory results, and clinical history
  • Maintain patient safety and radiation safety standards
  • Perform daily equipment checks and department opening and closing procedures
  • Assist with supply management and quality assurance activities
  • Communicate effectively with providers, nursing staff, and patients
  • Document exams accurately and completely
What We're Looking For
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
  • Montana Radiologic Technologist License
  • ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT)
  • CT registration through ARRT, or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire
  • Current BLS certification (RQI Provider) within seven days of hire or before independent patient care
  • Previous CT and diagnostic imaging experience preferred
  • IV insertion experience preferred
We're looking for someone who is:
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Adaptable in a rural healthcare environment
  • Patient-focused and committed to high-quality care
  • A strong communicator and team player
Why Rural Healthcare?
