Opioid Treatment Program Registered Nurse (RN)

As our OTP Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assisting in all areas of patient care, coordinating the OTP's dispensing and nursing operations, and responding to medical emergencies, in compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
This position functions with clinical oversight from the Senior Clinical Director, administrative oversight from the Program Director, and direct supervision by the Nursing Manager/Nursing Supervisor.
Schedule
Mon - Fri 7am - 3pm.
Full-time days, flexible between multiple locations and virtual appointments.
Pay
$35.00+ per hour (+$2 per hour shift differential for Fridays and Saturdays).

Job Responsibilities of an Opioid Treatment Program Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Complete nursing evaluations for patient admissions at the Raleigh Hub, Wake County Detention Center, and the Mobile OTP, either in person or via telehealth.
  • Provide ongoing nursing assessment, planning and evaluation of patients.
  • Prepare, dispense and facilitate the transportation of medication to patients.
  • Maintain medication inventory records and log in compliance with State and Federal regulations - maintain DEA binders for all applicable units (medication or mobile)
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients, including such topics as HIV/AIDS, TB, Hepatitis C, pregnancy.
  • Coordinate medical treatment and referrals for biomedical problems.
  • Consult with the Nurse Manager, Nurse Supervisor, Medical Director, Program Physician, and Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for guidance in medical matters concerning the well-being of patients.
  • Provides continuous support to LPNs by being available via phone and able to arrive onsite within one hour as needed to address patient assessments and care requirements, ensuring timely and effective clinical support.

Qualifications of an Opioid Treatment Program Registered Nurse (RN)
Educational and Experience
  • Completion of accredited Licensed Registered Nurse program
  • 1 or more years' experience working with adults with a substance use disorder, preferred but not required

Minimal Licensure / Certification
  • Unrestricted RN Licensure in NC

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to organize resources and establish priorities
  • Ability to keep timely and accurate documentation
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Windows Operating System
    • Methasoft dosing system (Preferred, not required) o Electronic health record operating systems
  • Ability to identify and report client sedation
  • Ability to draw blood / obtain urine specimens/measure and record vital signs
