Job description


Schmidt Construction part of the Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Loader Operator to work at our Menzer Quarry location in Colorado Springs, CO. Operates loader for the purpose of loading and unloading trucks, load bins and hopper with raw materials and stockpiling materials.
Pay: $25-28
Shift/Schedule: Day Shift with Occasional Weekends

Responsibilities
The Loader Operator will:
  • Performs daily machine inspection and routine greasing, oiling, and fueling
  • Monitors any change in machine performance to identify potential malfunctions
  • Reports any equipment or plant malfunctions
  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment
  • Assists maintenance personnel with repairs
  • Maintains level work area to allow easy movement and access
  • Loads trucks with correct material while eliminating contamination
  • Complies with weight limits when loading trucks
  • Ensures that trucks are loaded with the appropriate products
  • Maintains bucket levels when transporting material to keep machine balanced and to prevent spillage
  • Maintain stockpiles of raw materials and finished product
  • Meeting customer service expectations
  • Complying with all safety regulations and policies
  • Operates various mobile equipment as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Two years' experience running a loader
  • Knowledge of materials
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for an extended period of time
  • Occasional pushing, pulling and/or prying
  • Work outside for an extended period of time
  • Able to detect differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness
  • Works in environment with noise and temperature variations
  • Valid Driver's License
