Job description

Position Overview

Primary responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in food and nutritional sciences; developing a research program and securing external grants; advising graduate and undergraduate students; participating in curriculum development; collaborating with faculty on research and scholarship activities; serving on departmental, college, and university committees and participating in other academic functions.

This is a 9-month tenure track position.

Minimum Requirements

Must hold a Doctorate in Food Science, Nutritional Science, or a closely related field with a focus on food biochemistry. Teaching experience with strong technology skills in classrooms, a record of scholarly achievement, and grant writing experience are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level. The ideal candidate will have interdisciplinary expertise that bridges food science and nutrition, and experience teaching graduate and undergraduate courses such as food microbiology and biotechnology, food safety and sanitation, risk assessment, and food protection and defense.
