Job Description

The Burn Table Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC plasma, laser, or oxy-fuel burn tables. This role requires reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to ensure precise and accurate cutting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC plasma, laser, or oxy-fuel burn tables.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Load and unload steel plate and other materials using overhead cranes or forklifts.
  • Select programs and verify machine settings prior to production.
  • Monitor cutting operations and adjust machine parameters as needed.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and dimensional compliance.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience with CNC burn tables.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience with plasma torch, laser, plasma cutting, and plasma table operations.
  • Strong skills in metal fabrication and machine operating.
  • Proficient use of tape measures and micrometres.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts is beneficial.
