Job description

Position Summary The Aquatics Cashier Performs reception duties at swimming pool including using the cash register, collecting admission fees, answering the phone, and greeting the public. Keeps accurate totals of monies collected, and is held accountable for such. May assist with programs and facility rentals, including registrations, and assist with cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.

Education, Training, Experience, Certifications, Licenses and Registrations Education / higher education: Should have completed High School Freshman year; if age 19 or older, must have a High School diploma or GED. Other requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be able to work flexible hours.

Education and/or experience preferences: None Driver's License requirement: None Required Endorsements: None Note -- For any driver, driving record must always meet City driving and insurability standards. Required certifications, licenses or registrations: Must be able to complete National Safety Council CPR and First Aid courses. Preferred certifications, licenses or registrations: None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge: Must have a mature approach when dealing with patrons and co-workers.

Must become knowledge of all aquatics programs so that questions asked by the public can be answered accurately. Skills: Using cash register, collecting admission fees, answering the phone, and greeting the public. Abilities: Must be customer service oriented.

Interaction with Groups/Agencies/Entities: Will interact with other City staff, taking direction and providing information; will interact with facility patrons and swimmers, providing direction, guidance, instruction and enforcing rules and regulations. Essential Functions The following functions are typical for this position. The omission of specific functions does not exclude them if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position.

Other duties may be required and assigned. Acts as front-desk receptionist, taking admission fees, answering questions, and being the first point of contact for patrons at City swimming facilities. Uses cash register, answers phone, and greets the public.

Keeps accurate totals of monies collected, and accounts for all receipts per instructions provided by supervisor. Promotes positive relationships with the public, and is knowledgeable of all programs so that questions by the public can be answered and pool rules and policies are enforced. Assists with program registration / party rentals.

Attends all training sessions and in-service trainings. Maintains an orderly and neat reception / office area, assists in pool area, grounds and maintenance, and cleanliness as assigned. Works in cooperation with the Pool Manager and Head Lifeguards.
