Job description

Job Title: Civil Engineer III
Position Type: Contract (12 months, with options to extend to multiple years)
Schedule: 4x10 day shift. 6x12 during outage, potential for nightshift
Will travel be required for this position - Yes - 50%
Location of assignment: Surry VA 23883
Pay Rate: $60/hr - $65/hr (W2)
Per diem be offered? Yes

Top 3 Required Skills
1) Strong analytical capability in steel and concrete design
2) Proficient in the nuclear Standard Design Process and license/design basis assessment per 10CFR50.59

High Level Project Overview:
  • Candidate will be responsible for developing and reviewing Design Changes, calculations, and technical evaluations in support of large capital projects as part of Client Power Station's Subsequent License Renewal.
  • Candidate will work extensively with Engineers of Choice and manufacturers to ensure designs satisfy technical specifications and station design/license basis.
  • Projects include, but are not limited to - 96" circulating water intake piping replacement, 4160V Cable Replacement, Fuel Handling Cranes Replacement, Containment cooling coil replacement, and R22 Elimination
Education:
  • B.S. in Civil, Structural, or Engineering Mechanics

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written, internally to the team and with external vendors
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
