Overview

Provides support to members of the Department of Anesthesiology who provide clinical service. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operation. Demonstrates commitment to managing, maintaining and improving department standards of care and practice.

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises technical duties of OR-Anesthesia Techs I, II and OR-Anesthesia Team Leads: including general OR support tasks and anesthesia technical support. Monitors and measures staff productivity and workflow. Directly supervises OR-Anesthesia Techs on multiple shifts and provides on-going education. Shares responsibility for orientation of new technicians and team leaders.
  • Provides support to the perioperative care team by completing various technical tasks supporting a high-quality patient experience and outcome.
  • Assists with inventory maintenance of OR-Anesthesia Technician supplies supportive of safe and efficient surgical care. Fosters ongoing communication with OR Leadership and other perioperative staff.
  • Coordinate with Biomedical Engineering and Supply Chain availability of Anesthesia Monitors, Equipment, and Machines
  • Supervises Daily Readiness tasks utilizing principles of DMS.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and 1-2 years experience OR-Anesthesia Tech or equivalent outside experience or
  • HS diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years experience OR-Anesthesia Tech or equivalent outside experience accepted in lieu of a degree
  • National Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians Certification Preferred Upon Hire
  • Certificate: North American Drager School of Technology Preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting Drager Anesthesia Machines HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • Certificate: Ohmeda School of Technology Preferred

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $23.02/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
