PROCESS ENGINEER - INJECTION & BLOW MOLDING
Department: Processing
Reports To: Technical Services Manager
Classification: Full-Time
Revision Date: June 2026
Job Summary
A Plastic Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, validating, and sustaining injection molding and blow molding manufacturing processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective production of high-quality plastic products.
Job Duties
  • Develop and optimize injection molding and blow molding processes for new and existing products.
  • Establish and document process parameters to ensure repeatable and robust manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct process validations including IQ/OQ/PQ and process capability studies.
  • Implement and maintain scientific molding principles and process controls.
  • Collaborate with tooling engineers to improve mold performance, cycle times, and product quality.
  • Troubleshoot molding defects and lead CAPA activities.
  • Perform DOE studies to optimize processing conditions.
  • Support mold trials, resin qualifications, and new product launches.
  • Analyze production data to reduce scrap and improve productivity.
  • Train technicians and operators on process standards and best practices.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Plastics, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred. 3-10 years of injection molding and/or blow molding experience. Scientific Molding certification preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Molding principles, including material selection, mold design, injection molding processes, and process optimization techniques
  • Communication, Problem & Solving Skills, Time management, Collaboration skills, Attention to details.
  • A strong understanding of the injection molding process and the use of all injection molding equipment to include robotics.
  • Computer skills including a familiarity with MS Power Point / Excel / others.
  • Be able to communicate in English.

Position Type:
This is a full-time position. The position regularly requires long hours and possible weekend work.
Travel:
  • Minimal travel may be expected.
