Job description

Highway Technician 1 with CDL, with tanker endorsement and no air brake restrictions- Winter Seasonal 2026-2027 - Cuyahoga County

What You Will Do:

-Snow and Ice Duties on the roadway 8-12 hours, fleet readiness inspections (pre/post) and washing of the Snow and Ice Equipment, greasing equipment used for snow and ice, blade changing

-General facilities maintenance

-Pothole patching and roadway remediation crew duties

-Assist with sign installation along 2, 4 and multi-lane routes

-Articulated loader operation to load single and tandem axle dump trucks for snow and ice operations

-Assist with the maintenance of traffic for roadway emergencies

-Highway beautification and litter removal when needed

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.

Note: Applicant must have valid Commercial Driver’s License at the appropriate level pursuant to approved position description on file to operate motorized equipment of size & type regulated by section 4506 of Ohio Revised Code.
