We are seeking an experienced Crew Leader to lead a landscaping crew through year-round operations, including landscape maintenance, landscape construction, and snow removal. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining productivity, ensuring quality workmanship, promoting safety, and delivering exceptional service on every project. During the winter season, this role also serves as a Snow Plow Driver, operating trucks and equipment during snow events.


This is a full-time, year-round position offering long-term career growth--not seasonal employment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a landscape crew performing maintenance, hardscape installation, plantings, seasonal cleanups, and enhancement projects.
  • Review daily job scopes with the crew and ensure work meets Dohner Landscaping's quality standards.
  • Operate landscape equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, skid steers, and other industry equipment.
  • Train, mentor, and develop crew members while promoting a positive, productive work environment.
  • Maintain safe work practices and ensure proper use of equipment at all times.
  • Keep jobsites, vehicles, and equipment clean, organized, and professional.
  • Communicate daily progress, material needs, scheduling updates, and project challenges with supervisors.
  • Interact professionally with clients and represent the company with excellent customer service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and team performance.
  • Serve as a Snow Plow Driver during snow events from approximately November through April.
  • Operate plow trucks safely while following assigned service routes.
  • Respond to snow events, which may include overnight, early morning, weekend, and holiday work.
  • Assist with salting, shoveling, and additional snow operations as needed.
  • Support a culture of growth and advancement, with opportunities to develop into Operations, Estimating, or Management roles.
QualificationsRequired
  • Minimum 1 year of experience leading a landscaping crew or serving in a senior crew leadership role.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites and equipment locations.
  • Ability to operate landscape equipment and snow plow trucks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to leading by example.
Preferred
  • Experience operating skid steers, loaders, or similar heavy equipment.
  • Hardscape installation experience, including pavers, retaining walls, and grading.
  • Irrigation and landscape lighting experience.
  • Desire to grow into Operations, Estimating, or Management roles.
Pay & Benefits
  • Full-time, W-2 position
  • Summer pay: $20 to $25 per hour
  • Winter pay: $25 to $40 per hour (depending on experience and equipment operated)
  • Expected annual earnings of $60,000-$70,000+, including bonus opportunities
