Job description

Description
About Wolfe
Recognized among Pittsburgh's 2024 Top Workplaces and Fastest-Growing Companies, Wolfe has been a leader in the Gift Card and FinTech sectors for over 25 years. We partner with national brands such as Pizza Hut, KFC, Pandora Jewelry, Kendra Scott, Wawa, Journeys and others to manage their gift card programs. Our flagship consumer brand, PerfectGift.com, enables customers to create customized gift cards. We are a fast-paced environment, like kayaking down a white-water river, not canoeing on a lake.
About The Role
We are a FinTech company committed to delivering trusted, high-performance financial products — and we are actively transforming how we build, operate, and serve through AI. As AI becomes embedded in our products, engineering processes, and day-to-day operations, the VP of DevOps will play a central role in ensuring our infrastructure and delivery systems can support that transformation at scale.
This leader will own the reliability, scalability, and security of our DevOps ecosystem, leading the team that powers every deployment, every environment, and every release. We are looking for an execution-focused leader who can bring discipline, speed, and operational excellence to a fast-moving engineering organization, while modernizing our toolchain to take full advantage of AI-driven automation.
This is a 5-day onsite role in Pittsburgh, PA.
The VP of DevOps reports to the CIO/CISO and leads the engineering function responsible for the reliability, performance, and secure delivery of our ecommerce platforms and the infrastructure connecting our card production facilities. This role owns build, packaging, CI/CD, deployment, edge security, and production operations across a mixed cloud, edge-compute, and on-premises card manufacturing environment. The successful candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can bring both strategic and tactical leadership to the team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the DevOps organization, overseeing build, packaging, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Operate and continuously improve cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent), configuration management, and automation tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, to optimize performance, cost, and uptime.
  • Provide DevOps and network engineering support to card production facilities, ensuring connectivity, system uptime, and integration reliability for personalization equipment and production line systems.
  • Plan and execute seasonal capacity strategy, including load testing, change-freeze management, on-call rotation, and incident command for peak ecommerce periods.
  • Identify and operationalize AI-powered tooling within DevOps workflows where it produces measurable productivity, reliability and cost improvements — ensure infrastructure is ready to support AI/ML workloads in production.
  • Enforce security, compliance, and operational standards aligned with FinTech regulatory requirements (SOC 2, PCI-DSS), partnering closely with Security, Risk, and Compliance teams.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Infrastructure leaders to align DevOps priorities and capacity with delivery commitments, and manage team budgets, vendor relationships, and tooling investments.

Impact Statement

For more clarity on the role, below are the success metrics and measurements for this role in the first 90 to 120 days:
  • Complete a full assessment of current CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, tooling, and team capability, and deliver a prioritized execution roadmap with quantified targets for deployment frequency, lead time, and change failure rate.
  • Improve deployment lead time and deployment success rate against the established baseline, with specific targets agreed with the CIO/engineering leadership within the first 30 days.
  • Identify, pilot, and operationalize at least two AI-powered tools or workflows within the DevOps function, with measurable improvements in engineer productivity, MTTR, or reliability.
  • Make improvements to core reliability metrics — uptime, MTTR, incident volume — across ecommerce sites, payment integrations, and card production facility connectivity, meeting or exceeding agreed SLOs.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform/Infrastructure Engineering, including 5+ years leading and growing technical teams.  Hands on technical depth is required.
  • Proven track record of running DevOps in regulated industries — FinTech, banking, payments, or similar — with direct accountability for production reliability and compliance posture.
  • Deep hands-on expertise across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and modern container or serverless deployment patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating AI/ML tooling into engineering workflows, or operating infrastructure that supports AI/ML workloads in production.
  • Strong working knowledge of security, compliance, and risk frameworks relevant to financial services (SOC 2, PCI-DSS and PCI-CP), and experience operating under audit.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • Exposure to hybrid environments that include both cloud SaaS workloads and physical/industrial operations (production facilities, manufacturing systems, or similar) is a significant plus.

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks
The compensation shown includes Base Salary plus Target Incentives Bonus. In addition, you will receive RSUs. Wolfe is committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package to support your well-being, along with competitive compensation. Our benefits and perks include but not limited to:
