The Ranch Sports Grill a full-service restaurant and bar and is great for sporting events and families as well. We are dedicated to providing memorable experiences through our passion for service and our community.


This position should be a self-starter and team player who not only has a passion for customer service and enjoys working with people, but also has the desire to grow and take on more responsibility in the restaurant.  

Job Summary:

As the Assistant Restaurant Supervisor, you will play an integral role in the Food and Beverage Operations.  You will help ensure that guests have an enjoyable experience and do everything possible to make sure the entire staff is organized and prepared to help the guests in any way possible. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Supervision

  • Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations as Manager-On-Duty (MOD) for restaurant and bar.
  • Fill in for Retaurant Manager in times of absence. Make executive decisions, hold meetings, and provide accountability for staff.
  • Assist Restaurant Manager with supervising and coordinating the activities of service staff, host/hostess and bartenders, including scheduling, evaluating, progressive discipline, hiring and firing.
  • Supervise the dining room daily operations when MOD to ensure smooth guest experience.
  • Monitor guest experience during their visit, making sure that they receive the best food and service possible. Resolve any issues while the guest is still on premises. Follow up with staff and kitchen if issues need to be addressed.  
  • Motivate staff and be a leader that creates a team environment to meet appropriate goals. Create and encourage open communication between other managers and staff members.
  • Create and foster a respectful, professional, and inclusive team environment.
  • Be knowledgeable of policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent feedback both positive and corrective and address corrective action for all violations of company policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Direct cleaning of Dining Room, Bar and other areas pertaining to the FOH to maintain sanitation standards and keep appropriate records.
  • Monitor actions of the staff members and guests to be sure that safety standards and liquor laws are obeyed.
  • Check assigned opening and closing side work for all staff.
  • Follow proper inventory control for restaurant and bar operations.
  • Describe all menu items and daily specials, prices, and methods of preparation.

Business Growth

  • Assist in meeting financial goals by increasing bar sales, reducing labor, supply, and inventory costs, monitoring budgets and sales goals.
  • Assist in improving restaurant and bar sales, coordinating marketing strategies such as special offers and promotional activities that will achieve success. Build sales through guest satisfaction.
  • Develop professional relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease ticket wait times, communications, streamline work process and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless guest service.
  • Manage the online presence of the restaurant ensuring all info is up to date.

Duties

  • Perform the following functions daily: planning, purchasing, sanitation, training, staff management, and recordkeeping.
  • Ensure that staff are trained on POS, processes, procedures, company policies and safety.
  • Follow up with projects and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Keep food and beverage physical menus current and POS up to date.
  • Schedule staff members according to the needs of the business.
  • Verify each server’s daily drop.
  • Ensure that invoices are reviewed, approved, and forwarded to Controller in a timely manner.
  • Assist in performing monthly physical liquor inventories for restaurant.
  • Develop seasonal food and beverage menus.
  • Place orders and schedule deliveries for the restaurant when needed.
  • Assist with restaurant seating floor plan and strategic planning for special events, private parties, etc.
  • Verify that company, state, and federal policies are followed by supervisors, and employees.

Position Requirements:

  • 2 or more years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possess current Food Handler and RBS certifications required to work in a restaurant.
  • Ability to manage other staff in a professional manner. 
  • Must be able to learn to use all necessary computer software programs.
  • Requires great communication skills, both verbal and written, and possesses computational ability and computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Confident, proactive, and willing to make changes to the workplace.
  • Goal oriented, responsible, and organized.
  • Excellent mediator and delegator.
