Job description

Job Title: Conference Events & Special Projects Supervisor
Job Pay Rate: $18.50/hr.
Job Summary:

The Conference Events & Special Projects Housekeeper Supervisor contributes to the overall success of The Broadmoor by ensuring Event Complex Meeting and Pre-Function Spaces and other formal meeting venues are properly cleaned and maintained prior to and after events. This encompasses coordinating all aspects associated with the maintaining and protecting of the assets of the Broadmoor Meeting and Event venues by conducting frequent walk throughs and taking the necessary steps to maintain all areas within scope of responsibility in pristine condition. Oversees the performance of Broadmoor employees and third-party partners who are responsible for cleaning and maintain these areas

What you will be doing:
  • Attend BEO, Operations and Pre-Convention Meetings as needed
  • Reviews all Banquet Event Orders to determine Housekeeping requirements and the execution of requested furniture moves
  • Coordinates projects and processes with other Departments to achieve operational excellence and an exceptional guest experience
    • Utilize Delphi to as a tool to schedule cleaning and related projects
  • Oversee post event breakdowns in all meeting spaces to ensure timely cleaning and to identify damages cause by staff or third-party vendors
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of all Complex meeting spaces, heart of house service areas and loading docks to include Broadmoor Hall, Colorado Hall, International Center and Bartolin Hall
    • This includes but is not limited to carpet care, chandelier cleaning, and the general cleanliness of furniture and fixtures, walls, baseboards and airwalls
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of Cheyenne Lodge, Mountain Club House, and Fish House
    • This includes but is not limited to carpet care, chandelier cleaning, and the general cleanliness of furniture and fixtures, walls, baseboards and airwalls
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of Meeting / Ballrooms / Pre-Function spaces in Main, Original West, West Tower, and South Tower including Penrose Restaurant and Golf meeting rooms
    • This includes but is not limited to carpet care, chandelier cleaning, and the general cleanliness of furniture and fixtures, walls, baseboards and airwalls
  • Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of heart of house convention services areas property-wide
  • Responsible for Convention Services floor care equipment to include upkeep, maintenance, repairs, and recommended purchase
    • Training of staff to operate all equipment safely and according to recommended guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness of exterior awnings, walkways, ceilings / overhangs, floors, and windows within scope of responsibility comprised of Complex, adjacent Meeting Room Patios. Fish House, Cheyenne Mountain Lodge and Mountain Club House
  • Supports process of maintaining exterior furniture including proper placement when associated outdoor space is being utilized for a function, and with the seasonal removal / storage
  • Assists with interviewing and selection process of new hires within scope of responsibility
    • Creates weekly and training schedules for existing and new employees while adhering to budget and staffing guidelines
    • Ensures staff compliance with all Broadmoor Guidelines including those pertaining to grooming and appearance
    • Actively participates in the Employee progressive disciplinary process including the coaching, counseling, and execution of Employee disciplinary actions including termination for deficient performance or failure to adhere to Department and Hotel Guidelines
    • Relays pertinent information to ensure seamless transition between AM and PM shifts
  • Plays active role in conducting pre-shifts that are thoughtful and informative
  • Provides inspirational leadership by rewarding and recognizing employees for their exceptional performance and by participating in the various reward and recognition programs of the Department and Hotel.
  • Organize and supervise daily workload for the Events Housekeeping Crew.
  • Responds to guest complaints and follows up to ensure satisfactory problem resolution
  • Utilizes creative thinking and analytical thought processes to maximize productivity
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:
  • High school or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training. Prior Housekeeping supervisory and hospitality experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 10 hours per day) and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed due to events
  • Directly and indirectly supervises up to one hundred Employees within scope of responsibility. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Specifics include interviewing, hiring, and training Employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Valid Driver's License required as you will be transporting materials, linens and other supplies across the resort.
    • Any employee driving a Broadmoor vehicle must be 18 years or older
  • Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) with a work environment that may be indoors and outdoors at times
