Familiarity with security management systems, surveillance technologies, and, for cleared facilities, knowledge of NISPOM standards or related certification is highly valued. Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for identifying threats and coordinating with staff. These competencies ensure the safety of people and assets while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational continuity.

Seasonal Facility Security Officers often face challenges such as quickly adapting to new security protocols, managing increased foot traffic during peak seasons, and maintaining vigilance in a fast-paced environment.
