ROLE OVERVIEW:

This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round.

This position is responsible to open new or existing sites and prepare for aggregate extraction and stockpiling, then restore site after extraction operation is completed.

Typical schedule is Monday - Friday with one Saturday per month.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

  1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  2. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on bulldozer.
  3. Safely and properly operate bulldozer.
  4. Construct drain field and ditches as needed.
  5. Prepare site for aggregate mining and stockpile millings and other aggregate products for the plants.
  6. Recover submerged aggregate.
  7. Cover fabric on jobsites.
  8. Maintain a safe and efficient pile by pushing up millings.
  9. Collaborate with truck drivers to ensure efficiency and safety as millings are stockpiled.
  10. Maintain strong customer relations with managers, supervisors, pit owners, co-workers and other customers.
  11. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  12. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  13. Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements

  1. Equipment maintenance and operation.
  2. Driver's license preferred.

COMPENSATION:

$28.00 - $36.00 depending on experience.
