Job description

Position Summary

Lead, evaluate, design, and engineer projects and systems to specification on projects ranging from new design/build to rehabilitation of existing facilities and systems. Provide ongoing technical guidance and engineering issue resolution as needed.

Position Details

  • Provides conceptual design for specific projects
  • Serves as design professional at project team design meetings
  • Prepares complex preliminary redline design layouts for estimating
  • Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, hydraulic calculations, etc.
  • Performs site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and resolves design issues during construction phase
  • Supervises less-experienced engineers in performing HVAC, fire protection or other system design and documents production of small and large projects

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • PE License required
  • 8+ years of experience, including lead experience
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable systems design, such as fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, etc., as well as
  • general understanding of system operations.
  • Ability to read complex mechanical and plumbing plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with all levels of employees,
  • clients and general contractors
  • Strong public speaking/presentation skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, including as Excel
