Job description

United Cooperative is seeking seasonal employees for our upcoming busy agronomy season! If you enjoy being outside and working independently in the agricultural field, working with customers, and feeding the world, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Open Positions:
Seasonal Tender Truck Driver
  • Haul agronomy products from fertilizer plant to the farm in an efficient and safe way for the benefit of United Cooperative and its member owners.
  • Ensure on time loading and unloading and communicate with vendors if delays occur.
  • Be available to load and/or unload your loads as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Verify that the equipment and supporting vehicles are in good working order.
  • Blend and load Agronomy products.

Seasonal Semi Driver
  • Provide safe and efficient transportation of commodities and farm supply products for the benefit of United Cooperative and its member owners.
  • Load trucks and inspect products.
  • Perform timely product delivery, accurate recordkeeping, cleanliness of vehicle to promote a positive company image.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Communicate often with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth operation.
  • Prompt reporting to supervisor with personal needs, safety concerns, customer problems, vehicle issues and any product inconsistencies.

Seasonal Agronomy Operations
  • Responsible for maintaining operations at retail supply location.
  • Perform warehouse work to include driving loader, forklift, mechanics, and maintenance.
  • Follows maintenance schedule of facility and equipment.
  • Responsible for inventory and distribution of products.
  • Delivers miscellaneous products as requested.
  • Stocks and moves warehouse product and material.
  • Assists both full-time and part-time operations personnel.
  • Maintains the facility and equipment image.
  • Assists in obtaining goals by improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Works with location manager on all safety and compliance issues.
  • Perform housekeeping inside and outside of all facilities.
  • Complete all safety reports and required record keeping.

Seasonal/Full-Time Applicator
  • Accurate application of fertilizer and crop protection products.
  • Complete applicator logs and reports.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound inventory.
  • Apply and understand the use of agronomy products.
  • Precisely custom apply fertilizers based on recommendations.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Requires ability to provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Agricultural background preferred.
  • Valid driver's license or Valid CDL with required endorsements (or the ability to immediately obtain).
  • Applicators license that meets the minimum compliance requirements of the regulatory state in which the applicator operates. Possession of license or immediate ability to obtain.
  • Willing to train the right individual.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, and/or chemicals.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
