Job description


Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Commissioning Specialist to support commissioning, retro-commissioning, and re-commissioning projects across critical facility and infrastructure environments. This role involves leading commissioning activities including system testing, QA/QC, functional performance testing, equipment startup, and operational verification to ensure systems meet design requirements and client expectations. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, and high-performing facility operations. Mission critical experience is a plus.
Pay: $70.00- $80.00 per hour
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Facilities Management, or related discipline preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive commissioning experience
  • Experience with utility infrastructure, electrical power systems, life safety systems, low voltage systems, and facility operations/maintenance
  • Working knowledge of NFPA, NETA, and NICET standards and testing requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities in complex facilities
  • Mission critical/data center experience preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and perform commissioning, retro-commissioning, and re-commissioning activities
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections, functional performance testing, and equipment startup
  • Verify building systems meet operational and design requirements
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout project execution
  • Support testing and validation of electrical, low voltage, utility, and life safety systems
  • Prepare commissioning documentation, reports, and testing procedures
  • Support safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations
  • Participate in both onsite and office-based project activities
