Job description

Job Summary: 

The Director, Product Management - Global Store Discovery will lead the global digital shopping discovery experience across desktop web, mobile web, and native apps. This role will own the strategy, roadmap execution, experimentation, and cross-functional delivery for the core discovery surfaces that connect customers with products across iHerb's global platform. Key areas of ownership include the Homepage, Search (including AI-powered search), Product Listing Pages (PLPs), Navigation, Promotional and Campaign landing experiences, Personalized discovery feeds, and other browse and discovery surfaces across the site and app.

Job Expectations:

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and drive the global product vision, strategy, and roadmap for store discovery experiences across desktop, mobile web, and native apps.

  • Build differentiated discovery experiences that improve product findability, browsing engagement, conversion, and customer retention.

  • Develop customer-centric strategies tailored for both new and returning users across the full discovery journey.

  • Identify emerging trends in AI-powered search, personalization, recommendation engines, and competitive discovery experiences.

Product Ownership Areas

Homepage

  • Own the global homepage experience as the primary brand and discovery entry point.

  • Drive strategy for content layout, personalization, promotional placement, featured categories, localization and curated product surfaces.

  • Optimize for engagement, new user acquisition, and returning customer activation across all devices.

  • Partner with Merchandising and Marketing to enable scalable content operations and campaign execution.

Search

  • Own the end-to-end search frontend product experience.

  • Drive AI/ML-powered search improvements including semantic search, vector-based retrieval and AI driven shopping experiences.

  • Partner with Data Science and Engineering to continuously improve search quality metrics and conversion rates from search.

  • Support multilingual and global search experiences across all iHerb markets.

Product Listing Pages (PLPs)

  • Own PLP experiences across category pages, brand pages, promotion pages, and search results pages.

  • Optimize product card layouts, sorting and filtering options, pagination, and information hierarchy.

  • Drive personalization of PLP ranking and product sequencing based on behavioral and contextual signals.

  • Improve mobile-first browsing and grid/list display experiences.

  • Partner with Merchandising on promotional badging, deals visibility, and category curation strategies.

Navigation & Site Structure

  • Own global navigation architecture including primary nav, mega-menus, breadcrumbs, and category taxonomy.

  • Drive improvements in site hierarchy, interlinking, and navigational discoverability.

  • Support SEO-driven structural improvements including internal linking strategies and URL architecture.

  • Ensure navigation scales across international markets with localization and regional category structures.

Promotional & Campaign Discovery Surfaces

  • Own discovery surfaces for promotions, deals, seasonal events, and campaign landing pages.

  • Drive strategy for sale pages, deals hubs, clearance surfaces, and time-limited offer discovery.

  • Partner with Marketing and Merchandising to ensure campaign experiences are optimized for conversion and scale.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers and potentially Product Owners across store discovery domains.

  • Drive strong collaboration across Engineering, Design, Analytics, Data Science, Marketing, SEO, Merchandising, and Operations teams.

  • Establish product development best practices, experimentation rigor, and KPI accountability across all discovery surfaces.

  • Communicate product vision, roadmap priorities, and business impact to executive stakeholders.

Data, Analytics & Experimentation

Define and monitor KPIs including:

  • Search conversion rate and search click-through rate

  • PLP engagement and add-to-cart rates

  • Homepage engagement and click-through metrics

  • Bounce rate and session depth from discovery surfaces

  • Revenue per visitor and revenue per search

  • Discovery-driven AOV and units per transaction

  • Personalization lift and recommendation performance

  • Time-to-product-found and navigation funnel efficiency

  • Champion A/B testing and data-driven decision-making across all discovery touchpoints.

  • Leverage customer insights, behavioral analytics, search analytics, and market research to prioritize initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:         

  • Proven experience owning large-scale customer-facing digital discovery experiences across web and mobile platforms.

  • Strong expertise in ecommerce search, browse, navigation, personalization, and conversion optimization.

  • Deep understanding of search relevance, ranking systems, filtering/faceting, and AI-powered search technologies.

  • Experience leading global product initiatives across multiple international markets.

  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams and influencing executive stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using experimentation frameworks and product analytics tools.

  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational leadership skills.

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task

Preferred: 

  • Experience in high-growth ecommerce, retail, marketplace, or consumer technology companies with global scale.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML-powered search, recommendation systems, and personalization platforms.

  • Experience with mobile app ecosystems and mobile discovery optimization.

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices including site architecture, structured data, and content discoverability.

  • Experience with merchandising systems, promotional platforms, and content management at scale.

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

Experience Requirements:

Generally requires 12+ years of Product Management experience, including leadership roles in e-commerce, digital retail, or consumer technology platforms with a focus on discovery, search, or shopping experiences.

Education Requirements: 

Bachelor's Degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Judgment/Reasoning Ability:  Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy.  Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.
