Search Engine Rater information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Search Engine Rater, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Search Engine Rater, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a good understanding of web search and internet culture, often supported by a high school diploma or higher. Familiarity with online evaluation tools, search engines, and sometimes proprietary rating guidelines is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and the ability to follow complex instructions set top performers apart. These abilities ensure that search results are accurately evaluated, improving the quality and relevance of information presented to users.

What are some common challenges faced by Search Engine Raters, and how can they be managed?

Search Engine Raters often encounter the challenge of interpreting complex guidelines and applying them consistently across a wide range of search queries and content. Staying up-to-date with frequent updates to these guidelines requires attention to detail and adaptability. Managing productivity within strict deadlines while avoiding repetitive strain can also be difficult. To succeed, it helps to review guideline updates regularly, take scheduled breaks, and engage with available support forums or training resources to clarify uncertainties.

What are Search Engine Raters?

Search Engine Raters are individuals who evaluate and rate the quality and relevance of search engine results. They help companies like Google and Bing improve their algorithms by providing feedback on how well search results meet user intent. Raters follow detailed guidelines to assess webpages, images, videos, and other content, ensuring search results are useful and accurate. This role typically involves working from home on a flexible schedule and requires attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Job description

The Marketing Specialist will play a key role in developing and executing marketing strategies to promote our aerospace products, services, and technologies. This position focuses on B2B marketing in a highly technical and regulated industry, translating complex engineering concepts into compelling messages for customers including airlines, defense contractors, government agencies, and OEMs. You will collaborate with sales, product management, engineering, and communications teams to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Marketing Campaigns: Create and manage integrated marketing campaigns (digital, content, events, and trade shows) to support product launches, market expansion, and sales objectives.
  • Content Creation: Produce technical marketing materials, including whitepapers, case studies, brochures, presentations, website content, and social media posts. Translate complex aerospace technologies (e.g., aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics) into accessible, benefit-driven messaging.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct market intelligence on industry trends, competitor activities, customer needs, and regulatory changes in aerospace/defense. Use insights to inform go-to-market strategies.
  • Digital Marketing: Manage SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media (LinkedIn, X, YouTube), and paid campaigns. Track performance using analytics tools and optimize for ROI.
  • Event Support: Plan and execute participation in major aerospace events (e.g., Paris Air Show, Farnborough, NBAA, Space Symposium), including booth design, collateral, and lead capture.
  • Sales Enablement: Develop marketing tools, pitch decks, and training materials to support the sales team in communicating value propositions.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent branding across all channels while adhering to industry compliance standards (e.g., ITAR, EAR for export-controlled content).
  • Reporting: Monitor KPIs (lead generation, engagement, conversion rates) and provide regular reports to leadership.

Requirements:

  • 3D design and rendering for Executive Director
  • Facility modeling for Director of Engineering & Production
  • Keeping our milestone excel schedule up to do date and staying in the loop with all subsystems to make sure we capture all the significant tests and events
  • Taking video and photo for marketing with me and when I can't make it because I'm busy.
  • Photo documentation of all testing would also be helpful to all the teams. I know Goddard had that as someone's whole job was photo documenting for test and integration procedures so that'd be a help to all the teams
  • Organizing our photos and videos in our folders
  • Editing photos and photo shop for messy workspaces. Are we are currently contracting out a little bit here and there?
  • Video editing and compilation

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
