Job Summary

Join the team responsible for establishing Palo Alto Networks as the undisputed digital authority in the age of AI. We are looking for an SEO Manager to execute the day to day evolution of our search strategy from traditional keyword centric SEO to AI native Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). Reporting to the Director of Search and GEO, you will be the tactical engine driving our visibility across traditional search engines and emerging LLM based answer engines. You will work directly with content creators, product marketing, and web engineering teams to optimize our content ecosystem, ensuring maximum visibility, rankings, and AI citations.

Key Responsibilities
  • SEO/GEO Execution: Execute the end to end search optimization program, blending traditional technical SEO with modern GEO tactics to drive organic traffic, pipeline, and brand equity.
  • AI Overview & Citation Optimization: Implement handsโ€‘on optimization strategies (such as answer first formatting and semantic reinforcement) to secure inclusions in Google AI Overviews and citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.
  • Content & Keyword Strategy: Conduct deep keyword research, entity mapping, and intent analysis. Partner with content teams and Unit 42 research to build dense topic hubs and optimize the Awareness architecture for both users and LLM crawlers.
  • Technical SEO Management: Monitor and improve sitewide crawl efficiency, Core Web Vitals, and indexing. Manage the implementation of structured data (JSON LD) and emerging AI crawling protocols like llms.txt and .md plain text files.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on traditional organic performance (clicks, rankings, impressions) alongside nextโ€‘gen metrics like Share of Voice, citation triggers, and AI referral traffic.
  • Crossโ€‘Functional Collaboration: Serve as the go to SEO consultant for Product Marketing teams providing actionable optimization briefs, training writers on GEO best practices, and utilizing AI tools to scale content production.
  • M&A Support Execution: Assist in the hands on migration of acquired web properties, executing redirect maps, auditing incoming technical setups, and preserving historical search authority.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 6+ years of dedicated SEO experience, preferably within a complex B2B, SaaS, or tech environment.
  • Emerging Search Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and how LLMs retrieve, chunk, and cite web content.
  • Technical SEO Expertise: Proficiency in handling technical SEO elements including Schema markup, JSON LD, XML sitemaps, and complex site architectures.
  • Tool Proficiency: Expert level experience with enterprise SEO and analytics tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Conductor, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and Adobe Analytics.
  • Pipeline & Lead Gen Focus: Proven understanding of how SEO/GEO intersects with Paid Search (SEM), and a track record of optimizing the organic funnel to drive conversions and pipeline.
  • Cybersecurity Interest/Knowledge: Previous experience in cybersecurity is a major plus; ability to quickly grasp complex technical threats and translate them into search opportunities is highly desired.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to translate complex search data into actionable insights for content writers, designers, and engineering teams.
  • Education: BS/BA in Marketing, Data Science, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
